Canillitas de Leche are a delicious typical Guatemalan sweet, with an intense flavor, a very smooth texture and a sweet that melts in your mouth. Basically its preparation is very simple, since they are made with three simple ingredients: milk, sugar and cinnamon.

Guatemalan gastronomy is rich in a variety of candies, but Antigua Guatemala is the city that most represents the variety of flavors of our typical candies.

First, we must explain that in the Spanish language, the word "canillita" is the diminutive of "canilla", which is another way it refers to "legs". However, technically the "shin" is the "leg shin". So the typical sweets "canillitas" have this name due to their elongated shape. They are still prepared in a very traditional way, without chemical preservatives or industrial process, that is why they have a unique and special flavor.
